Media Advisory-Hexagram Future Creators Evening: Virtual Characters, Interactive Textiles, Hysterical Machines and Floating Cubes Await You

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 30, 2006) - Journalists are invited to an extraordinary evening during which artist-researchers from UQAM and Concordia University will present the results of their media arts research in the presence of Mr. Michael Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services.

Under the theme "Future Creators," to highlight the fifth anniversary of the HEXAGRAM Institute for Research / Creation in Media Arts and Technologies, the evening will reunite more than 250 people, representing Hexagram's key partners. They include the Cirque du Soleil, the Gillett Entertainment Group, the Daniel Langlois Foundation and The Next Venture group.

More than 75 Hexagram artist-researchers will demonstrate their projects, some of which focus on interactive textiles, wearable computers, hysterical machines, floating cubes, emerging cinema, virtual characters and evolving digital imagery.
