Media Advisory: Hospital Union Leader to Respond to LHIN's Wage Freeze Proposal

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2009) - The President of CUPE's 25,000 member Ontario Council of Hospital Unions (OCHU) will respond to proposals made today by the Champlain LHINS chief Dr. Robert Cushman and some Ottawa area hospital administrators who say Dalton McGuinty should freeze the wages of health care workers as the answer to Ontario's multi-billion dollar deficit, a move which would require the breaking of legally binding contracts.
