Media Advisory: International Ice Hockey Federation to Conduct Site Visit of SBP

Venue to be inspected prior to 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 23, 2008) - On Thursday, Jan. 24, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) will be sending one of its senior staff members to SBP, home of the Ottawa Senators, to conduct its first site visit of the venue prior to the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship. The championship features 31 games being played over 10 days in Ottawa, from Dec. 26, 2008, to Jan. 5, 2009.

Hannes Ederer, the deputy general secretary and event director for the IIHF, will join Cyril Leeder, vice chair of the host organizing committee; Bob O'Doherty, general manager of the championship and several members of the host organizing committee for a tour of SBP. Following the tour, Ederer, Leeder and O'Doherty will be available to the media. Jan. 24 will be the first of a two-day tour for Ederer, who will be visiting all the competition, practice and hotel venues that will be utilized during the championship.
