Media Advisory: Labour on Throne Speech

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 17, 2007) - Ken Georgetti, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, will offer his reaction to yesterday's Speech from the Throne as part of a keynote address today at the national convention of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, in Toronto.

Georgetti takes the stage this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

"Yesterday's Throne Speech was not about moving us all forward as a people. It was about moving people out of the way so big business can do its own thing," said Georgetti shortly after the speech was delivered.

The Canadian Labour Congress, the national voice of the labour movement, represents 3.2 million Canadian workers. The CLC brings together Canada's national and international unions along with the provincial and territorial federations of labour and 136 district labour councils.
