Media Advisory: Media Availability for Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame Inductees

Reception and Induction Ceremony on Friday, Jan. 11, at Scotiabank Place

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 10, 2008) - On Friday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m., Detroit Red Wings legend Steve Yzerman, freestyle-skiing pioneer Mike Nemesvary and Robert Rathwell, a pillar of community sports in Ottawa, will be available for media interviews prior to their induction into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. Senators' president and chief executive officer Roy Mlakar and the hall's Tom Deacon will also join the 2007 enshrinement class for media availability, which is scheduled to take place inside of the Gate 2 entrance at Scotiabank Place.

Who: Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame inductees Steve Yzerman, Mike Nemesvary and Robert Rathwell. The inductees will be joined by Senators' president and chief executive officer Roy Mlakar and the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame's Tom Deacon.

When: Friday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m.

Where: Scotiabank Place, please use Gate 2 for access into the building.

Media opportunity: The 2007 enshrinement class will be available for media interviews inside the Gate 2 entrance at Scotiabank Place. Media are welcome to attend for the duration of the event.

Prices are $800 for a table of eight and $100 for an individual seat. Prices include taxes but exclude CRF and convenience charges.

This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. The national capital's sports shrine officially opened on the upper concourse of the Ottawa Civic Centre on April 25, 1968.

Since then, more than 200 of Ottawa's finest athletes, builders and teams have been welcomed into the prestigious Hall of Honour. Maintained by a volunteer board of trustees, the hall was moved to the 200-level concourse at Scotiabank Place in 2005.
