Media Advisory: Media Invitation to Experience Bert's Wednesday, Sept. 16

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2009) - Ottawa Senators and Scotiabank Place president Cyril Leeder and Aramark executive chef Keith Jones are inviting the media to be the first to experience a taste of Barbados in Ottawa at Bert's on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 12:30 p.m.

Bert's, the Sens Army headquarters, is nearing completion at Scotiabank Place's Gate 1 entrance.

While the official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place with Senators owner Eugene Melnyk and Bert Inniss before the club's home-opener against the New York Islanders on Thursday, Oct. 8, Leeder and Jones will give you a preview of the restaurant's design, menu and theme. Fans at the Senators pre-season game against the Florida Panthers later in the day on Sept. 16 will get an opportunity to experience Bert's first hand when it opens its doors to the public.

Among the highlights at Bert's will be six spectacular palm trees, a glowing "pool bar," 23 large-screen high-definition televisions to watch Senators games and other sports action, and comfortable seating in leather "zone booths". You will also get to taste the restaurant's signature stone-fired thin-crust pizzas, banana Daiquiris, and Bert's original chicken wings and gourmet burgers.
