Media Advisory: Minister of National Defence to Participate in Sledge Hockey Skills Competition Hosted by Soldier On

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2010) - The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, will participate in a sledge hockey skills competition on the site of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. The competition will be hosted by the Canadian Forces Soldier On Program, which aims to empower ill and injured military personnel through sport.

Date: Thursday 11 March 2010
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (PST)
Place: Canada Hockey Place (GM Place)

Team Soldier On will be joined by representatives of sister organizations from the United Kingdom (Battle Back) and the United States (The Challenged Athletes Fund).

Additionally, Minister MacKay and Paralympic Torchbearers from the Soldier On Program will be available for a photo opportunity at 8:00 p.m. in the River Rock Concourse at GM Place.
