Media Advisory: New Integrated Personnel Support Centre Opens in Ottawa

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) - Media representatives are invited to the official opening of the new Integrated Personnel Support Centre (IPSC) in Ottawa. Colonel Gerry Blais, Director of the Canadian Forces' Casualty Support Management, and Captain (Navy) Lynn Bisson, Commandant of the Canadian Forces Support Unit Ottawa will preside over the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

When: Thursday, April 8th, 2010 at 10 a.m.

Where: National Defence Medical Centre Building, 1745 Alta Vista Drive, Main Foyer

The Ottawa IPSC is one of 19 support centres to open across Canada under the Canadian Forces' new Joint Personnel Support Unit (JPSU). These centres coordinate a range of casualty support and case management programs, plan and monitor the Return to Work Program, provide Veterans Affairs Canada client and transition services, and liaise with local service providers, base support representatives and unit Commanding Officers.
