Media Advisory: OPSEU-Hospital Professionals Protest Hospital Cuts at Caplan Constituency Office

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 20, 2008) - About 100 health care professionals from across Ontario will demonstrate outside of health minister David Caplan's constituency office on Friday.

Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, the hospital professionals say a new round of restraint is going to make existing professional shortages much worse and adversely affect patient care.

WHERE: 2062 Sheppard Ave. E, Toronto (at Consumers Drive)

WHO: Speakers include OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas, OPSEU 1st Vice-President Patty Rout, and Yves Shank, Chair of the OPSEU Hospital Professionals Division.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union represents more than 30,000 health care workers in hospitals, nursing homes, home care, ambulance and other community settings.
