Media Advisory: Ontario Fairness Commissioner, The Honourable Jean Augustine, to Deliver Opening Remarks at Screening of "The Big Wait", a New Film About the Doctor Shortage in Canada

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 9, 2010) - The Honourable Jean Augustine, PC will deliver the opening remarks at a free screening of "The Big Wait", a new documentary that looks at the doctor shortage in Canada. The film focuses on the personal experiences of three foreign-trained physicians working their way through the complexities of the current accreditation process.

In addition to the Commissioner, Dr. Sara Chhetry, one of the foreign-trained doctors profiled in the film, will be in attendance and taking part in the Q&A session following the screening.

The Office of the Fairness Commissioner makes sure that certain regulated professions in Ontario have registration practices that are transparent, objective, impartial and fair.
