Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - Law Society to present honorary doctorate to the Honourable Coulter A. Osborne

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 11, 2008) - The Law Society of Upper Canada will present a degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LL.D.), to the Honourable Coulter A. Osborne, at its Call to the Bar ceremony in London on June 16.

Mr. Osborne, the former Associate Chief Justice of Ontario, will be recognized for his many contributions to the administration of justice throughout his distinguished career.

The Law Society will call 89 new lawyers to the Ontario Bar at the London ceremony.

Each year, as part of its call ceremony, the Law Society awards an honorary doctorate to a distinguished person who exemplifies the values held in esteem by the legal profession. Law Society Treasurer Gavin MacKenzie will present the honorary LL.D. and Mr. Osborne will then deliver the keynote address to the new lawyers.
