Media Advisory/REPEAT/City of Montreal: Launching of Black History Month 2007

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2007) - The mayor of Montreal, Gerald Tremblay, and the President of the Black History Month Roundtable, Elisabeth Dembil, are pleased to invite members of the media to the official launching of the 16th edition of Black History Month.

On this occasion, Mayor Tremblay and Elisabeth Dembil will unveil the Black History Month calendar of events, and introduce the 2007 laureates who represent the black community and who have been chosen for their involvement in various fields of activity. Officials representing the governments of Canada and Quebec will attend the ceremony. The speeches will be followed by a photo-op.
