Media Advisory: Remembrance Day Ceremony at the National Military Cemetery

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2009) - There will be a ceremony of remembrance at the National Military Cemetery on November 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will honour those Canadian Forces members interred at the cemetery, and all of those who have fallen in the service of Canada.

The ceremony will include a marching contingent, a gun salute provided by 30th Field Artillery Regiment, two minutes of silence, and the laying of wreaths.

The ceremony of remembrance will occur as follows:

Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Place: The National Military Cemetery, on the grounds of Beechwood
Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. Enter from either
Beechwood Avenue or St. Laurent Boulevard; once inside there
will be signs to guide traffic to the National Military

Media representatives are requested to kindly respect the privacy wishes of family members attending in remembrance of loved ones. Interviews will be granted according to the wishes of family members. These wishes will be communicated to the media through the Canadian Forces Public Affairs Officer, Sub-Lieutenant Greg Menzies.
