Media Advisory: Senators Defenceman Tom Preissing to Visit Scotiabank Read to Succeed Winning Class

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 16, 2007) - On Wednesday, Jan. 17, Senators defenceman Tom Preissing will visit St. Augustine School in Ottawa to read to a winning class of Grade 2/3 students.

Scotiabank Read to Succeed is a literacy initiative presented free of charge by the Ottawa Senators to assist elementary school teachers in motivating their students to read on a daily basis through incentives and rewards. Each month, registered classes that reach their reading goals are entered into a draw to win one of six Sparty parties, which includes a classroom visit from Sparty, pizza courtesy of Pizza Pizza and juice courtesy of Coca Cola. Teachers interested in registering their classes for Scotiabank Read to Succeed or any other Sens@School program can do so by visiting the Senators' website at www.ottawasenators.com.
