Media Advisory: The Commissioner of Official Languages Will Participate in the Celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of the Official Languages Act

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 4, 2009) - From September 9 to 12, Commissioner of Official Languages Graham Fraser will be participating in the various activities that will be held in the National Capital Region for the 40th anniversary of the Official Languages Act.



September 9

8:45 a.m. The Commissioner will make the opening remarks for the symposium
40 Years of Official Languages in Canada: Our History and the Path Ahead.
He will participate in the symposium the entire day as well as the next
day.

5:00 p.m. The Commissioner will unveil the exhibition Deja Vu: 40 Years of
Language and Laughter in Political Cartoons. The opening of the exhibition
will end at 7:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. The Commissioner will speak to members and guests of the
Federation des communautes francophones et acadienne du Canada during their
annual general meeting.
