Media Advisory: University Students Given Opportunity to Win CA$H

CA Institute student competition for money, prizes and campus pride

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 10, 2008) - Students from across the province are competing for pride and prizes in the Battle for CA$H. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario holds this annual competition to give university students considering a career as a Chartered Accountant the opportunity to compete, have fun and earn some cash prizes.

Thirty-nine three-person teams, made up of undergraduate business students selected by accounting/business societies from 18 universities across the province, are traveling to the Institute's head office for the competition.

CA$H pits the teams against each other in friendly competitions stressing the use of Chartered Accounting skills such as teamwork, leadership, organizational ability and time management.

Prizes include $3,000 for first place, plus an additional $1,000 for the university's accounting club, $1,500 for second and $750 for third. All teams will also be aiming to succeed last year's winner - the University of Toronto Scarborough - as the CA$H champs.

The Institute can put reporters in touch with participating students in most Ontario communities. The top three university teams will be announced at the event on Saturday, January 12 with a news release to follow January 14. Professional and student media are invited to attend the event.
