VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2010) - The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay is filled with stories of people who overcome the obstacles and demonstrate the fire within us all to turn a spark into a flame. As Canada's first Paralympic Torch Relay, the relay celebrations prelude the start of the first-ever Paralympic Winter Games held in Canada.

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) will hold media technical briefings for Ottawa, ON on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., in advance of the first Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay Lighting Celebration in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, which will occur on March 3, 2010.

The advance media briefing is intended to help media prepare to cover the Paralympic Community Relay Celebration and provide details about the Paralympic Torchbearer briefing meeting as well as the Paralympic Flame Creation Ceremony. The briefing will also provide additional details on how media can access torchbearers in advance of the celebration and provide story ideas. A question and answer portion will also be included for media to seek additional information about Ottawa's Paralympic Torch Relay Lighting Celebration.

Media accreditation to access the celebration site will be issued immediately following the briefing, and will also be available at the celebration site approximately two hours before the Ottawa Paralympic Torch Relay Celebration begins.
