Media Advisory: Workers Participate in Toronto Jobs Rally

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 11, 2009) - Workers from Toronto and area are participating in a jobs rally on Saturday, June 13th. They are sending a clear message to the Harper government. It's time to fix Employment Insurance, it's time to protect pensions and it's time to put people before banks.

There are more than 1.55 million unemployed Canadians but fewer than half of them are able to qualify for EI. The Harper government refuses to improve access and benefits and the Prime Minister even suggests that workers would sooner sit around collecting EI than work.
