Miss America 2007 Lauren Nelson Commemorates Launch of County-Wide Program
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) -
What:
The Clark County Medical Society Alliance (CCMSA) will launch the Faux Paw
Internet Safety program for Clark County's children at William R. Lummis
Elementary School during a Town Hall-style kids' assembly addressing the
role technology plays in school, family and work life. Miss America 2007
Lauren Nelson and Symantec Internet Safety Advocate Marian Merritt will
host an interactive Q&A with children, teachers and parents during this
special event.
The Clark County School District, the fifth largest school district in the
nation, along with additional private schools in the county, will
incorporate the Faux Paw learning program into elementary school curriculum
starting this fall. The program consists of a book, DVD and online
tutorials designed to teach children about the dangers of online computing.
The program is being provided to the County's schools by the CCMSA and
funded in part by the American Medical Association (AMA) Alliance.
