Meet Our Outstanding Members: Recipients of the 2007 APEGBC President's Awards

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 25, 2007) - The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) honours its 2007 President's Awards Recipients in Whistler today. Fourteen outstanding members and one very special committee will receive accolades from the Association's outgoing President Timothy Smith, P.Geo., Eng.L. at the President's Awards Gala at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre.

This year's recipients come from each corner of the province and have made a difference in their respective professions, careers or communities. As well, special recognition will go to APEGBC's Seismic Peer Review Committee for the creation of a performance-based approach in assessing schools for the purpose of seismic upgrades. The Committee then went on to develop life-safe, cost-effective seismic retrofit design concepts. This will mark the first occasion that a committee has been formally recognized for its substantial and innovative contributions to public safety in BC.
