Megola's Hartindo AF21: The Driving Force Behind EcoBlu's FRC Technology

EcoBlu Products Fire Resistance Tests -- A Major Success

POINT EDWARD, ON--(Marketwire - January 13, 2010) - Megola Inc. (OTCBB: MGON) announced today that EcoBlu Products is continuing to receive successful results for fire resistance testing of its FRC™ Technology (Fire Retardant Coating).

In November of 2009 Megola and EcoBlu signed an exclusive licensing agreement. As a part of the agreement, EcoBlu acquired the exclusive rights to Megola's Hartindo AF21 Fire Inhibitor in North America as an additive to EcoBlu's BLUWOOD™ technology. Hartindo AF21 provides Class A fire protection for dimensional lumber, panels and engineered wood products and is the foundation of EcoBlu's FRC™ Technology.

"We have found Hartindo AF21 to be an extremely effective and environmentally-friendly fire inhibitor in treating engineered wood components as our test results continue to prove," commented Steve Conboy, CEO for EcoBlu.

EcoBlu most recently tested its FRC™ Technology on an I-joist floor/ceiling assembly with a single layer of drywall. The assembly survived 60 minutes of fire exposure with no flaming or burn-through of the floor surface. The American Plywood Association (APA) estimates that 565 million feet or about $1.01 billion worth of I-joist will be consumed in North America in 2010.

"This is an extremely promising test result to go along with the many others EcoBlu and Megola have conducted to meet the various wood industry requirements. Megola will continue to focus our efforts on supplying our distributors to ensure that we can meet the tremendous demand potential for the Hartindo product line," stated Joel Gardner, CEO for Megola.

The increased flammability of Engineered Wood Products versus natural dimensional wood products has caused concern among industry leaders, fire protection advocates and project designers. Demand for engineered wood products continues to grow due to their strength, cost effectiveness and the lack of mature dimensional lumber. Protecting engineered wood from fire will mitigate this threat to safety and support further growth for engineered products.
