Metatomix Partners With Florida Children and Youth Cabinet to Launch Data Sharing Initiative

Metatomix's Information Sharing Solutions Will Help Better Protect Children by Providing Comprehensive, Real-Time Data to State Agencies; Implementation Builds on Metatomix's Seven Years of Experience Optimizing Florida Data Sharing Initiatives

DEDHAM, MA--(Marketwire - March 25, 2010) -  Metatomix, Inc., a leading provider of semantic solutions to justice and public safety, financial services, manufacturing and life sciences organizations, today announced that it has partnered with the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet to launch the Children and Youth Cabinet Information Sharing System (CYCISS), a multi-agency data sharing initiative designed to allow agencies that serve Florida's children to better communicate, collaborate and improve service delivery.

Metatomix CEO Jeff Dickerson joined Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp, Supreme Court Justice Fred Lewis and Chief Child Advocate Jim Kallinger at a press conference held at the Florida state capitol building in Tallahassee this morning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time to mark the occasion.

The first data sharing initiative of its kind for child welfare, the CYCISS will provide state agencies with a new and effective tool to help better provide service in a timely manner, exchange and share data quickly and cost effectively, and identify and eliminate service overlaps and gaps between agencies -- all in an effort to help keep children safe. Using Metatomix's semantic data sharing technology, the CYCISS has a data exchange component which allows agencies to automate data and document transfers between systems, and eliminate re-keying efforts and errors. Users will also have access to real-time information as soon as it is posted or uploaded.

With more than 5,000 users across state and local agencies in Florida, Metatomix's solutions intelligently link data from existing disparate systems to create a common understanding of data across an enterprise, providing a 360 degree view of information. The CYCISS will leverage Metatomix's mtx Justice Inquiry System (JIS) system, currently implemented in all 67 counties across the state of Florida.

"By using cutting edge technology, we will be able to better serve the children of Florida," said Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Chairman of the Children and Youth Cabinet. "The Children and Youth Cabinet is bridging the communication gap that exists between our state agencies that serve children."

The Children and Youth Cabinet was created in July 2007 by Florida Governor Charlie Crist to help coordinate state agencies and programs that deliver children's services. The Cabinet's goals are centered upon a long-term commitment to children and youth issues and supporting the healthy growth and development of children in the state of Florida.

"The CYCISS will break down long standing barriers to sharing information," said Chief Child Advocate Jim Kallinger. "It will provide as much real time, up-to-date data and data exchange capability on a child or family as possible in a single view. It is a single sign-on system to facilitate better decision making and service delivery."

"Metatomix has been working hand in hand with the state of Florida for the past seven years," said Metatomix CEO Jeff Dickerson. "We have the experience, as well as the results, to deliver the right data sharing solution for this important initiative. We're delighted to work with a forward-thinking organization like the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet, that recognizes the importance of implementing an innovative information sharing system in order to help better protect children and their families."
