Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Selects Base Technologies to Develop Transportation Demand Management Software System (TDM)

Council's Commuter Connections Program Awards Contract to Base Technologies for Innovative TDM Software That Will Coordinate Commuter Programs in Maryland, DC and Virginia

MCLEAN, VA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 16, 2006 -- Base Technologies, Inc. of McLean, Virginia has announced that it has won a contract to develop a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) software system for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments' (COG) Commuter Connections Program. Commuter Connections coordinates alternative commute programs among nineteen local jurisdictions with the objectives of reducing highway congestion, vehicle emissions, and fuel usage.

Base Technologies will design and develop software that will fulfill COG requirements, including a GIS-based regional ride-matching and Guaranteed Ride Home application; tracking of Employer Outreach program utilization; and management and reporting functions throughout the DC Metro region. The centrally deployed system will improve COG's ability to manage and coordinate its regional programs and also improve coordination of commuter programs with local jurisdictions in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The current contract award is for the first phase of a three phase project.
