Midlands Announces 6.3 g/t Over 4 Metres on Sian-Ghana

Current drilling program designed to:

1. Increase the resource on Sian from 400,000 ounces of gold at 2.3 g/t to over 1 million ounces through infill drilling between previous holes on less than 5% of the 16 km strike length gold soil anomaly on Sian/Praso;

2. Upgrade at least 30% of the increased resource to a measured category;

3. Expand the size of the Sian deposit by drilling Praso South and Praso North

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 4, 2010) - Midlands Minerals Corporation ("Midlands" or the "Company")(TSX VENTURE:MEX) is pleased to announce the drill program is going well with values as high as 6.3 g/t over 4 metres from the first four RC holes infill drill holes.

"We are very pleased with results from our first four drill holes because we did not consider this structure to be significant or highly prospective. Our technical team decided to drill this structure southeast of the Esaase pit before the rains because it sits in a low lying area," said Kim Harris, President and Chief Executive Officer. The four holes represent the first 393 metres of RC drilling out of a 20,000 metre planned program and are the first assays to be received by the Company.

The four holes are spaced at 50 metre intervals, and have defined an anomalous trend with a strike length of 200 metres with values as high as 6.3 g/t over four metres, and 0.7 g/t over 14 metres. Several intersections are over 0.6 g/t over 7 metres. The 50 metre hole spacing will allow an indicated resource to be calculated.

"The drilling is going well with the number of metres drilled per day being right on target. We are very pleased also, that in the course of preparing access roads for the drill rig, we have contributed to the local communities by building over 10 kilometres of roads on the Sian project," said Kim Harris.

RC Samples were taken at 1-metre intervals under dry drilling conditions by SEMS Exploration Services Limited ("SEMS") utilizing drilling and sampling techniques widely accepted in RC drilling programs. SEMS Exploration is an international geological consulting firm, which provides drilling and exploration technical support services to major mining and junior exploration companies.

Grade zone intercepts shown above were calculated using a minimum of a 0.5 g/t cut-off at the beginning and end of the intercept and allowing for no more than 3 consecutive samples (three metres) of less than 0.5 g/t Au while anomalous zones are calculated using a cut-off grade of 0.1 g/t Au. All samples were weighed on site and sent to the SGS Laboratory in Tarkwa, Ghana, where they were assayed using standard 50-gram fire assay with atomic absorption finish. QA/QC programs were in place using blanks, duplicates, and external standard samples.
