Minister Ambrose Announces an Appointment to the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2009) - The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Labour, today announced the appointment of Mrs. Marie-Josee Castonguay as a part-time Member of the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal.

"Mrs. Castonguay has extensive experience in the field of labour law," said Minister Ambrose. "Her experience, combined with her working knowledge, will be valuable assets to the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal."

Mrs. Castonguay has over 15 years of legal experience, specifically in commercial and banking law; bankruptcy and insolvency; and labour law. For three years, Mrs. Castonguay served as a Legal Member of the Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security Review Tribunals.

Mrs. Castonguay is a member of the Bar for the Province of Quebec. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Montreal and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa.

The Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial tribunal created in 1995 under the Status of the Artist Act. The mandate of the Tribunal is to contribute to Canada's cultural community by encouraging constructive professional relations between artists, as independent entrepreneurs, and producers in the federal jurisdiction.
