Miss Universe 2005 returns to America

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(CCNMatthews - July 11, 2005) - Miss Universe® 2005, Ontario resident Natalie Glebova, made her first official appearance in Canada today. Looking radiant despite her very long flight back from South Africa, she met the media in the Casino de Montréal's Salon Baccara. She then participated in the preparation of a dinner in her honour at the Casino's Nuances Restaurant, the only dining room in the city awarded a Five Diamond rating by the AAA/CAA automobile associations.

A Special Menu Inspired by a Special Person

The delectable dinner menu that Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Curtat created for a select group of guests was inspired by Natalie's Russian roots, Canadian citizenship and Ontario residency, while tinged with a taste of Thailand, the country where she was recently crowned.

"I am very glad to be back in Canada, particularly here at the Casino de Montréal where I was crowned Miss Universe® Canada 2005 last January 25th," exclaimed the beauty queen. "The Casino has a special place in my heart because it was right here that my dream began."

"Each year, the Casino de Montréal welcomes more than 700,000 visitors from outside Québec" underlined Yves Devin, General Manager of the gaming house. "As such, the Casino is the most visited tourist attraction in the city. But there is only one Miss Universe®, and we are delighted to have had the privilege of playing host to her twice this year."

The young 23-year-old realized a major accomplishment last May 30th in Bangkok, Thailand by becoming only the second Canadian in 53 years to be crowned Miss Universe®, prevailing over 80 other contestants competing in the pageant. The Casino de Montréal heartily congratulates Natalie Glebova and wishes her an excellent reign!
