TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 18, 2010) -

Attention Business and Technology Editors

On Monday March 1st, MobileMonday Toronto, Canada's leading mobile industry networking group, will open the floor for prospective mobile entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to some of Canada's leading Venture Capital companies. The event is focused on raising capital for mobile ventures. It will include participation from an experienced and seasoned panel of Venture Capital experts. This panel will provide guidance and share their experience with MobileMonday Toronto's attendees. Also, as a part of this session five companies from the Toronto area will be given the opportunity to present to the panel on the merits of their business or idea, and why they should receive funding.

"Given the extremely challenging economic climate that many companies have operated under over the past two years, it will be more important than ever for companies to look for support from investment channels that can help them during these cycles. We've had fantastic turnouts for the past three venture capital sessions organized by MobileMonday Toronto. GTA companies have proven to be extremely innovative companies and it is our hope that the MobileMonday Toronto platform can help bring additional capital and exposure to help them reach their objectives" says Alexander S. Bosika and Jim Brown, co-founders of MobileMonday Toronto. "We've had participation over the last 3 years from some of Canada's leading VC's including Ventures West, BCE Capital, Brightspark, Verdexus Capital, JL Albright - BlackBerry Fund, RBC Capital - BlackBerry Fund to name a few. This event continues to be a popular one for the community and we expect to see the same large turnouts we've seen for the past three years."
