Impact of Web 2.0 on Direct Response Marketing to Be Focus of Address

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - November 19, 2009) - The Electronic Retailing Association (ERA), the leading trade association for direct-to-consumer commerce, today announced that Jeff Taylor -- founder of and, more recently -- will deliver a keynote address at The Great Ideas Summit 2010, presented by ERA, February 1-3, 2010 in New Orleans. He will be speaking about the impact of Web 2.0 on direct response marketing.

"Jeff Taylor is not your typical CEO. He's a big-picture entrepreneur who has proved over and over again how the Internet can be harnessed to build well-known brands," said Julie Coons, ERA's president and CEO. "Taylor is a perfect fit to address this year's Great Ideas Summit attendees, as we explore the convergence of online and traditional direct response marketing channels."

Taylor is considered an innovator and visionary in both the Internet and career industries. He founded in 1993 in the early days of the Internet, and quickly built a company that is still today the world's leading online career site. In 2005, he founded, a social networking site designed for Baby Boomers for which he now serves as CEO. He also created in 2008, an online destination for national and local obituary news that hosts more than 80 million obituaries and has partnerships with thousands of funeral homes.

In addition to the companies he has founded, Taylor serves on the Board of Directors of Boston's Citi Center for the Performing Arts, and Board of Advisors of the Berklee College of Music. He's also an avid deejay, performing for almost 30 years under the name Jefr Tale, and hosts a weekly show on Sirius/XM on Sunday nights. He earned an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a certificate-owner/president management (OPM) program in Executive Education at Harvard Business School, and an honorary doctorate from Bentley College.

Taylor's keynote address at The Great Ideas Summit 2010 will take place Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
