Motorcyclists Reveal Why Bikes Are Best

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2009) - Avoiding traffic jams is the top reason to choose a motorbike over a car, according to research by Swinton Bikes.

A survey of 2,000 Swinton's bike Insurance customers found 31% of motorcyclists believe the greatest advantage of bikes over cars is being able to skip through queues of traffic, and a further 18% enjoy the easy parking.

Of the riders, 71% stated that bikes were much more economical than cars and 94% believed they were better for the environment.

Of those questioned 81% find riding a bike more enjoyable than driving a car and only 7% believed it to be more dangerous. However, 81% believe that car drivers do not take enough time and care to look out for bikers on the road.

The poll also revealed that 98% of motorcyclists get a rush of adrenaline when riding their bikes and 74% preferred winding roads than the motorway. Only 2% would exchange their bike for a car.

Anthony Aronin, Head of Swinton Bike Insurance, said: "For most riders, biking is a huge part of their life, not just a method of getting from A to B. The results of this survey demonstrate the passion and commitment that riders have for their bikes."
