Multi-Platinum Superstars Simple Plan Soldier On; Band Tapped to Appear at Live 8 in Toronto and Wins Top Honors at 2005 Much Music Awards

Quintet's Current Single "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" Goes Top 15 at Pop Radio

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 29, 2005 -- There's no stopping multi-platinum rockers Simple Plan as they continue to trek across the globe in support of their certified platinum sophomore album "Still Not Getting Any..." The album, which has sold over 1.2 million copies in the U.S., has consistently remained in the Billboard Top 100 since release on October 26, 2004.

Fresh off their North American tour with Good Charlotte and dates with Green Day, Simple Plan are one of the most recent additions to the historic Live 8 lineup. The band will appear at the July 2nd Toronto event, featuring Motley Crue, Bryan Adams, Barenaked Ladies, Neil Young and Our Lady Peace. The all-star concert marks the 20th anniversary of the legendary Live Aid concert, which is dedicated to raising money and awareness for Africa and making poverty history.

"It's a huge honor for us to be invited to perform at Live 8 in Toronto, in our home country, Canada," said Simple Plan drummer Chuck Comeau. "We're extremely proud to be part of such an important event that will be remembered for years to come. It's amazing that so many great artists are all coming together to raise awareness about the problems that the people of Africa are facing. Live 8 is a great chance for young people, who often feel disenfranchised with the political process, to realize that their voice is important and that their opinion matters. By showing up to all these shows, music fans are sending a strong message that cannot be ignored. We're all really stoked to be part of history and we can't wait to rock Toronto!"

In other Simple Plan news, the multi-talented punks grabbed a trophy for the fan-voted "Viewers Choice: Favorite Canadian Group," at the 2005 Much Music Awards ceremony. The band has won the award three consecutive years in a row, breaking all previous records.

Simple Plan are also celebrating the success of their current single "Untitled (How Can This Happen To Me?)" which officially hit the #15 spot on the Pop Chart. The song's companion video, written and co-directed by the band and director Marc Klasfeld, is an emotional look at how a family is torn apart by the inconsiderate act of drunk driving. The song and video have struck a chord with viewers nationwide and are supported by (MADD) Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Simple Plan will be touring this summer on select Warped Tour dates in support of "Still Not Getting Any..." The disc, which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, features the Top-10 pop track "Welcome To My Life" and the hit single "Shut Up," which went to #1 on MTV's daily countdown "TRL." The band's current single "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" garnered #1 Most Added honors at pop radio ahead of U2 and Mariah Carey. Simple Plan continues to receive accolades for their new release including nominations for three Juno Awards including Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and Group of the Year. In addition, Simple Plan received an MTV "TRL" Award nomination for "Best Band That Actually Plays Instruments" and was nominated in The Viewers Choice Award category at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.
