Munir Jivraj makes list of Calgary's Top 40 Under 40

Calgary, Alberta (September 8, 2008)  Munir Jivraj, manager, oil sands royalty planning, Finance, has been named among Calgary's 'Top 40 Under 40,' awarded by Calgary Inc. magazine.

Munir earned this recognition in large part for his extensive volunteering activities. Among other things, he volunteers at various levels with Scouts Canada, plus gives his time to a local Scout troop. He also chairs a fundraising event, the Calgary World Partnership Walk, for the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. In addition, he's involved with the Red Cross and the Calgary Drop-in Centre.

Volunteering is Munir's passion. He comments, "Suncor is very supportive of volunteering, it's one of the reasons I came to this company. I already had a strong commitment to volunteering and found a good fit with Suncor's values."

This marks the second year in a row that a Suncor employee has received this distinction. Dianne Zimmerman of Suncor's sustainability group was named to the list in 2007.
