Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation Partners With Belmont University for NOISE! Camp

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - March 29, 2010) -  The Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation is excited to announce they are partnering with Belmont University to bring their NOISE! Music Camp to Nashville to the Belmont campus this summer from July 18-28. 

Students aged 15-17 throughout the U.S. with a passion for music who are interested in making a career within the music industry are encouraged to apply for the camp at Applications must be returned by April 2nd, 2010.

Several students from last year's NOISE! Camp were recently in attendance at one of Muzak's most fun events of the year, the 4th Annual Carolinas Battle of the Bands, held in Charlotte March 13th. The event hosted nine competing bands and also featured a performance by two members of last year's winning band, "Through Porchlight," at the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte.

Kirsten Browne, from Concord, N.C., won first prize at this year's competition, which included premium professional studio time to record a demo, subscriptions to and, a song on a Muzak program heard by over 100 million people every day, a $100 music store gift certificate, a video of the competition and 200 copies of the artist's demo produced by Muzak for distribution.

Soulstice Music from Ft. Mills, S.C., took second place in the Battle of the Bands, with Blackjack, from Hendersonville, N.C. taking third. Judges for the evening's event included producer Walter Stewart (Producer of Loverboy and others), Imagine Entertainment's Tina Gibson and Ron "Hollywood," CHP Audio's Charles Holloman and local Charlotte musician Christian Skilone.
