NC Energy Services Ltd. Acquires Trans Tech Contracting Inc.

Continuing Strategy to be the Dominant Provider of Lifting & Heavy Haul Solutions

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 10, 2008) - NC Energy Services Ltd. ("NCES"), a Northwest Capital Appreciation portfolio company, and parent company of Northern Crane Services and A1 Crane Services, today announces the acquisition of Trans Tech Contracting Inc. ("Trans Tech"). Trans Tech is Canada's largest independent heavy hauling company. Trans Tech was formed by four partners in October 1996 to supply specialized transportation services to the oil and gas, construction, and forestry industries in Western Canada. Based in Edmonton (Acheson), Alberta, Trans Tech has operating authority in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Territories.

As part of the transaction, NCES welcomes Dan Duffy, George Rodgers, Terry Colban, Glenn Dales, and all of the Trans Tech employees to the NCES group and looks forward to providing lifting solutions to Trans Tech's existing customers. Trans Tech will be a wholly owned subsidiary of NCES.
