CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - November 13, 2009) - The National Council of State Boards of Nursing
(NCSBN®) Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program announces a
deadline of March 1, 2010, for application submissions for its third
funding cycle. To be eligible for funding grants, applicants must either be
a member board of NCSBN, or a professional organization, state agency or
individual interested in the advancement of nursing regulation.
The Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program funds innovative
projects that can have measurable impact on nursing regulation and can
create meaningful change. Research priorities include: patient safety;
practice (licensed practical/vocational nurses [LPN/VN], registered nurses
[RN] and advanced practice registered nurses [APRN]); nursing education;
continued competence; discipline and alternatives to discipline; and
national and international portability.
Grant awards have a $300,000 per project limit. The deadline for the 2010
Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program submissions is March 1,
2010.
Since the Center for Regulatory Excellence Grant Program began in 2007, it
has awarded nearly $5 million in grants.
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit
organization whose members include the boards of nursing in the 50 states,
the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories -- American Samoa, Guam,
Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands. There are also four
associate members.
