NDP Reality Check: Hey Liberals, Where's Your Leader?

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2007) - In what ranks as one of the most uninspired moments of their uninspiring campaign, the Liberal war room today issued an attack release on the NDP because the slogan "Get Orange" doesn't appear in our latest ad.

Liberals ask "Why did the NDP forget "Get Orange"? . . . did they drop it - and get even more negative - because voters know that a vote for the NDP is a vote for the Conservatives?"

The answer is "no." The new ad ends by asking Ontarians to vote NDP on October 10th. We felt that was important.

But speaking of things that don't appear in ads: where is Dalton McGuinty? Why doesn't he figure in the Liberal Party's latest ad? Or even the one before it with the red and blue split-screen?

Is it because Dalton McGuinty is more interested in attacking a failed leader like John Tory than he is in telling voters what he would do with an even bigger majority?

What would he do about the $500 million that families are having to fundraise to pay for school essentials?

What would he do to end the millions of dollars being ripped out of wait times and health professionals with his expensive private hospitals?

What would he do to roll back his 36% tuition increase?

"I'm in my ads. I want to talk about my policies and where we want to go and where we need to go as a province." - Dalton McGuinty, Canadian Press, September 19, 2007

If only.
