Partnership Dedicated to Raising Awareness and Funds to Fight Skin Cancer

Attention: Assignment Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor MARKHAM, ON--(Marketwire - June 8, 2009) - Today, NEUTROGENA®, the leader in sun protection technology, announced a year-long comprehensive partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society.

This year alone, around 75,100 new cases of non-melanoma (basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas) skin cancers are expected to hit the Canadian population that could result in approximately 270 deaths.
With the number of skin cancer cases in Canada increasing by two-thirds since 1990, this partnership could not have come at a better time. By joining forces, NEUTROGENA® and the Canadian Cancer Society will help raise much-needed funds for skin cancer research, while providing consumers with information that will help them to reduce their risk of skin cancer.

"NEUTROGENA® is deeply invested in sun protection education and skin cancer awareness," said Jeff Harrop, Group Brand Director, NEUTROGENA®. "This partnership is a natural extension of both the NEUTROGENA® brand's history of skincare expertise and our commitment to providing Canadians with solutions that make a real difference in their lives."

"We're very pleased to partner with NEUTROGENA® to educate Canadians on the importance of proper sun protection," said Dr. Barbara Whylie, CEO, Canadian Cancer Society. "Our goal is ultimately to reduce the prevalence of skin cancer, which is the most common form of cancer in Canada and is also one of the most preventable."

About The Partnership
The goal of this partnership is to affect change in the skincare practices of Canadians, including daily use of sun protection, in order to ultimately help reduce the incidence of skin cancer.

Through this comprehensive program, NEUTROGENA® will donate $2 of every sunscreen product sold to the Canadian Cancer Society, donating up to $200,000 for skin cancer research. In addition to the monetary donation, the brand is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society to deliver more than 200,000 samples, which contains its gold standard HELIOPLEX? sunscreen technology directly into the hands of Canadians through the Society's events across the country, including Relay For Life and other community events dedicated to raising awareness of proper sun protection.

Through extensive advertising and marketing campaigns, the brand hopes to educate consumers about the need for broad-spectrum, photostable sun protection. These campaigns will include on-pack signage, in-store point-of-purchase communication and ads in different magazines and will communicate NEUTROGENA® HELIOPLEX? sunscreens' exceptional protection against both burning UVB rays and aging UVA rays.

By fostering this powerful relationship, NEUTROGENA® and the Canadian Cancer Society hope to continue the advancement of educational efforts and funding for skin cancer research in the years to come.
