NIRI Silicon Valley Announces 2010 Annual Spring Seminar With a Focus on Powering Forward

Former San Francisco 49er Offensive Lineman Harris Barton Talks Power Strategies

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - January 28, 2010) - The Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) announced its award-winning Annual Spring Seminar today, to be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Hotel Valencia, 55 Santana Row, San Jose, California. Keynote speaker Harris Barton, a founder of HRJ Capital and a former All-American, and All-Pro for the three-time Super Bowl Champion San Francisco 49ers, will address winning strategies that can be applied to any field, whether it's football or the capital markets.

The NIRI Silicon Valley Chapter's Annual Spring Seminar is one of the largest and longest running educational and networking events for investor relations professionals in Northern California, garnering the "Best Special Event" honor for 2009 from the National Investor Relations Institute, and the Chairman's Award in the two prior years. This year's seminar will emphasize the strategies required to "power forward" as public companies begin to recover from a challenging economic environment.

The opening highlight of the event will be a "Court Vision" of the global economy by Jon B. Fisher, serial entrepreneur, economics commentator and business professor, followed by a Dream Team panel of Silicon Valley C-level executives. A range of topics focused on investor relations and the financial community will be presented throughout the day, including shareholder communications and dark pool trading. Breakout sessions will offer discussions featuring IR best practices, highlighting IRO career development and transformation, and providing guidance to those new to the IR profession. Breakfast, morning and afternoon breaks, lunch and closing reception provide ideal opportunities to network with other investor relations professionals.

The 2010 Spring Seminar is sponsored by a number of financial and investor relations services, including Broadridge, BusinessWire, Brunswick, Computershare Georgeson, CSG, Ipreo, Meet the Street, Thomson Reuters, and others. Exhibits will showcase sponsors products and services.

"Our award-winning Annual Spring Seminar attracts nearly 150 investor relations and chief financial officers and other corporate executives from industry-leading companies in the Bay Area and beyond," said Tom Rathjen, Vice President of Investor Relations at Accuray, Inc. and President of the NIRI Silicon Valley Chapter.
