Nashville's Zawdie Pride Named Spherion Temporary Staffing Employee of the Year

Also Nominated for American Staffing Association's National Staffing Employee of the Year

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 22, 2006 -- Spherion Corporation, a leading provider of recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions, today announced that Zawdie Pride, a flexible worker located in Nashville, Tenn., has been named Spherion® Flexible Employee of the Year for 2006 and has been nominated for the American Staffing Association's National Staffing Employee of the Year. The announcement was the highlight of National Staffing Employee Week, which ends today.

Each year, Spherion employs hundreds of thousands of individuals who choose flexible or contract work for a variety of reasons, including ready job availability, a choice of work assignments and schedules, opportunities to develop skills through training, and in some cases as a bridge to permanent employment. As administrative assistants, receptionists, pickers and packers, electronic assemblers, accountants, lawyers, technology specialists and professional business managers, these flexible workers fill temporary skill gaps, conduct special projects, keep production lines humming and help clients more effectively manage their workforces in response to changing business needs.

Zawdie Pride was selected as the embodiment of values Spherion brings to more than 8,000 clients throughout the United States and Canada. Pride has worked for Spherion more than four years in a variety of industrial specialty positions. According to Jennifer Klindt, on-premise manager for Spherion Staffing Services, "Zawdie is the kind of employee everyone would love to find. He is extremely motivated, very flexible and can see the big picture for his customers."

Even in short-term, hard-to-fill positions, Pride wows clients with his positive, can-do attitude. "He has covered different shifts -- in addition to his own -- sometimes working consecutive 16-hour days," said Klindt. "And he strives for process improvement, which has been a tremendous asset in the industrial sector."

Spherion also recognized Flexible Employee of the Year runner-up, Chris Allred, of Waco, Texas. Chris has been a flexible worker for Spherion since 1997, and has distinguished herself by being ready to go on a moment's notice for any assignment on any shift. "Chris is such a favorite that clients invite her to their company picnics," said Colleen Scott, who is responsible for client services in the Waco area.

Summing up the significance of this nomination, Spherion president and CEO, Roy Krause, said, "These exemplary individuals are terrific ambassadors for Spherion. We are committed to delivering recruiting and staffing excellence to every client, every day, and we couldn't meet that commitment without the dedication of Spherion employees like Zawdie, Chris, and thousands of others."
