National Bank and National Bank Financial Donate $100,000 to the Marie-Vincent Foundation

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 11, 2005) - National Bank of Canada and National Bank Financial are proud to support the activities of the Marie-Vincent Foundation by donating $100,000 to help child victims of sexual abuse.

The funds raised under the Foundation's current financing campaign will mainly be used to set up a centre of expertise that will offer young victims of sexual abuse and their families innovative integrated services, primarily in the areas of health and psychosocial intervention.

"The Bank is particularly sensitive to issues related to child welfare. Each year, thousands of children are hospitalized for abuse, violence, maltreatment and neglect. The Marie-Vincent Foundation comes to their aid with the services and support they need to deal with their difficulties. That is why I am proud that the Bank is supporting the Marie-Vincent Foundation," stated Lynn Jeanniot, Vice-President - Human Resources at the Bank. "We hope this donation will enable the Foundation to improve the lives of these children," added Jean Page, Managing Director - Private Equity at National Bank Financial.

In 2004, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave $12 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
