Nation's Largest Correspondent Bank Changes Name to Help Differentiate Brand

The Bankers Bank Is Now Silverton Bank

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - January 17, 2008) - The Bankers Bank, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, today announced that it has changed its name to Silverton Bank. The name change is a byproduct of their conversion to a national charter back in August 2007, which allows them to develop and support new products and services consistently across state lines so that the needs of independent financial institutions are satisfied to the highest degree possible. However, with 20 other correspondent banks nationwide that have "banker's bank" in their name, they hope that the name change will eliminate confusion in the marketplace.

"There are big differences between us and our competitors in terms of size and the breadth of services offered, but it's hard to differentiate yourself when you have essentially the same name," said Tom Bryan, President and CEO of Silverton Bank, formerly The Bankers Bank. "We just want to distinguish ourselves from our competitors, and we think this new name will help achieve that goal."

Despite the recent changes, Mr. Bryan strongly emphasizes that the bank's business model will not change. "We operate solely for the purpose of providing financial services to independent financial institutions. We do not and will not compete with our customers."

The bank's holding company, Community Financial Services, Inc. (CFSI), has also changed its name to Silverton Financial Services, Inc. (SFSI), and their investment banking subsidiary BankersBanc Capital Corporation is now Silverton Capital Corporation. Their other wholly-owned subsidiary, Specialty Finance Group (SFG), which provides commercial mortgage financing to the hospitality industry, will continue to operate under the same name.
