NaviSite Announces the ISV Sandbox

NaviSite Adds to Its Service Portfolio Designed to Enable Digital Delivery of Products From the Software Vendor Community

ANDOVER, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 25, 2006 -- NaviSite, Inc. (NASDAQ: NAVI), a leading provider of application management, professional services, and secure content delivery solutions for enterprises in the middle market, today announced the ISV Sandbox, the Company's latest offering in its portfolio of services specifically designed to enable the digital delivery of products from the software vendor community.

The ISV Sandbox provides independent software vendors (ISVs) with a secure environment for developing and testing the delivery of software applications to end-users over the Internet, commonly referred to as software as a service (SaaS). For ISVs, assessing the viability of the SaaS model can be expensive, both in terms of cost and time. The ISV Sandbox offers a ready-made platform for cost-effectively evaluating SaaS and testing SaaS-enabled software. This new version of the ISV Sandbox, for developers on the Microsoft platform, is built using the Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting for Applications, which is specifically designed to help ISVs shorten their time-to-market for a SaaS offering and to enable service providers to host and manage applications for ISVs.

"Software vendors are facing enormous challenges as the way in which business users and consumers interact with applications changes," said John Zanni, director of Worldwide Hosting at Microsoft Corp. "By removing the barriers to entry, Microsoft and NaviSite are enabling ISVs to make the shift to the SaaS delivery model with minimal impact on their businesses."

To go hand-in-hand with the Sandbox, NaviSite offers technology consulting and application development services to help ISVs SaaS-enable existing code and plan for a production environment. ISVs can also leverage business consulting services to identify and establish operations that support an on-demand business model. Once development and testing is completed, NaviSite can migrate the client to a SaaS production environment in one of the Company's secure, SAS 70 Type II audited data centers. Today, NaviSite supports the SaaS business lines of more than 70 software vendors. Future versions of NaviSite's SaaS Enablement Platform will focus on accelerated performance and collaboration capabilities. NaviSite also offers Electronic Software Delivery services to support digital delivery of software within a client-server software model.

"We are increasing our commitment and support for our partners in this growing sector," said Doug Mow, VP of Marketing, NaviSite, Inc. "The objective of the Sandbox is to provide a comprehensive development and testing environment for ISV's converting their software into a service. Once that is complete, NaviSite offers a seamless migration path to a production environment within our world-class facilities. We fully support this trend from the physical to the virtual, and this is the first of many steps as we continue to bolster our position as the leading SaaS enabler in the industry. Microsoft has been a terrific industry partner, and we are excited to offer this combined package to our partners and customers."
