Nestle Selects Sogec and Unica to Optimize Its Multi-Channel Marketing Initiatives

WALTHAM, MA and PARIS--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -  Unica Corporation (NASDAQ: UNCA), the recognized leader in marketing software solutions, and Sogec Marketing group, specialist in the operational management of customer services, have been chosen by Nestle France to manage multi-channel marketing initiatives for the world's leading food company.

Nestle France: specific expectations for its multichannel marketing campaign management
Operating in France for 140 years, the Nestle Group has a portfolio of 50 brands (including Vittel, La Laitière and Herta, among others). Over time, the company has been able to expand its leadership position across a wide range of common and specialized food categories, from infant to clinical nutrition. Due to the proliferation of potential marketing channels, the company's CRM and marketing departments felt it necessary to evaluate campaign management solutions, and ultimately selected Unica to help it execute interactive marketing programs.

Sogec and Unica: combining the development, storing, and operation of marketing databases and multi-channel marketing campaign management
Nestle selected its long-time partner Sogec (which already supported the company on the "Croquons la vie" ["Let's take a bite out of life"] program) and Unica for its interactive marketing expertise. A database management specialist, Sogec is responsible for hosting, updating, populating, and segmenting the Nestle France consumer database. In production for several months now, Nestle France is managing its multi-channel marketing campaigns using Unica Campaign®, allowing the company to introduce personalized communication with each current and prospective customer.

Additionally, Unica's email marketing solution, Unica eMessage®, which enables marketers to execute personalized emails, SMS, and other mobile communications, has been integrated into Nestle's solution to effectively respond to deliverability issues and ensure that emails arrive in the inbox rather than in spam folders.

Goals: to plan, decision, and execute relevant and personalized marketing messages using a marketing solution that can span channels.

Nestle's choice was principally motivated by:

  • the history and success of the collaboration between Sogec and Unica
  • the ease and speed of the solution's deployment
  • the flexibility and range of the solution (managing the entire campaign from its design to its launch)
