NetApp Awarded 2010 Everything Channel Partner Program Guide and Five-Star Partner Program Rating

NetApp Partner Program Recognized as Exceptional by Leading Channel Authority

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) - NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced that its NetApp Partner Program has been recognized by Everything Channel as one of North America's top information technology vendor programs. Additionally, the NetApp Partner Program was recognized with a Five-Star Partner Program rating for the second consecutive year.

The NetApp Partner Program was awarded a Five-Star rating in the Enterprise/Large Companies category in Everything Channel's 16th annual 2010 Partner Program Guide (PPG), acknowledging NetApp's commitment and the strength of its programs for reseller partners, which include IT integrators, technology solution providers, and consultants.

Known for its industry-leading channel program initiatives, NetApp has continued to build on its award-winning program with new investments in infrastructure and enablement tools to make it easier for partners to do business with NetApp. In addition, the NetApp Partner Program also now encompasses all of the company's indirect selling partner types under one global program, which supports a variety of channel partners and aligns with NetApp's overall growth strategy.

Additional new program enhancements include:

  • The NetApp Field Portal enables both direct and indirect sales teams to access sales tools, marketing resources, educational training programs, and product and company information to support partners throughout the sales cycle and optimize field and partner effectiveness.
  • Campaign Express provides NetApp branded marketing support to all NetApp channel partners, allowing them to set up an automated marketing system to create and execute their own specialized campaigns for NetApp solutions, from lead generation to collateral development to metrics reporting.
  • The NetApp Specialization Program provides technology specializations to help partners worldwide maximize strategic opportunities and distinguish themselves with their customers. Technology specializations include videos on demand, solution kits, and face-to-face workshops, which offer partners the tools and training required to become a certified expert in a specialized area to further drive revenue.

"We are pleased to deliver to the channel an exclusive list of the leading vendor channel programs with details about key technologies, program opportunities, and information on the hottest new program offerings," said Kelley Damore, vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel. "The quality of a technology vendor's partner program determines how profitable its partners will be. For their commitment to their business partners and their efforts to build quality programs, we congratulate those recognized as this year's Five-Star Partner Program winners for helping to drive greater revenue in the channel."

Research for the 2010 Everything Channel Partner Program Guide and the Five-Star Partner Program rating was conducted by Everything Channel's research department. Everything Channel analyzed 130 vendor programs rating vendors' responses to in-depth questions about their partner programs in the five elements of sales support, partner profitability, partner ecosystem development/management, partner communication/marketing, and demand generation. For fair comparisons, companies were placed in one of four categories (Enterprise, Midsize, Small, and Emerging) based on company size. Questions from each section were scored individually and weighted appropriately. The Five-Star Partner Program rating recognizes the elite subset of Partner Program Guide vendors who give solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs. The Five-Star rating is bestowed on programs whose overall rating is among the elite based on company size.

"We are honored to receive the prestigious Five-Star recognition in Everything Channel's annual Partner Program Guide for the second year in a row," said Julie Parrish, vice president of Worldwide Channel Sales, NetApp. "This award truly validates the enhancements we made to the NetApp Partner Program over the past year. We are committed to helping our partners grow their business and helping them meet their customers' needs even better."

The PPG list and those companies recognized with Five-Star ratings appear in the March 29 issue of CRN magazine and online at www.Channelweb.com.
