Network World Names Pano Logic Best in Class in VDI Shootout

Comprehensive VDI Solution Test Applauds the Pano Logic Solution for Its 'Wicked Fast' Speed, Multimedia Reproduction and Simplicity

MENLO PARK, CA--(Marketwire - December 22, 2009) - Pano Logic, the leader in zero client desktop virtualization (VDI), today announced that leading technology industry publication Network World has named Pano Logic the best client solution for desktop virtualization in an independent review of VDI solution providers. The best hardware-based VDI solution award further validates Pano Logic's radical approach to centralization with a true zero client at the endpoint, and 100 percent of the processing power and management at the data center.

The Network World evaluation, which appeared on December 21, 2009, called the Pano Logic zero client "simple and clean," adding, "We were impressed by ease of deployment, small profile, and excellent client responsiveness -- especially in such a small device." The review stated: "The Cube Clients, we found are wicked fast. They logon in just seconds, and were able to reproduce multimedia very well -- even when we loaded the hosted VMware server down ... with all 10 Cubes sent to us." Pano Logic's client device outscored two other hardware-based vendors, Wyse Technology and NComputing, in the Network World VDI Shootout.

The evaluation also lauded the Pano Logic, saying, "Its simplicity is bliss... " Pano Logic outscored every other vendor in all four categories of judging, including installation provisioning, management administration, client access and features, and security and performance. Pano Logic scored the highest in each category for a total score of 4.5, compared with an average score for all other vendors of approximately 3.76.

Pano Logic's purpose-built solution for virtual desktops has enabled hundreds of organizations worldwide to realize dramatic savings in TCO by radically simplifying deployment and management of end user computing. Unlike any other VDI or thin client vendor, Pano Logic centralizes 100% of end user computing power onto the virtualized server. There is no processor, no operating system, no memory, no drivers, no software and no moving parts in the zero client Pano Device -- resulting in absolutely zero endpoint management. The unique, all-in-one solution allows IT managers to easily tap into their existing virtualization infrastructure to deliver end user computing, slashing equipment, maintenance and support costs while delivering a powerful and familiar Windows PC experience for knowledge workers and task workers. Organizations save an average of $1,500 per desktop with Pano Logic. In addition, the zero client Pano Device uses 97 percent less energy than a PC, resulting in dramatic reductions in energy costs.
