Networked Insights Closes $5 Million in Series A Funding

Led by Kegonsa Capital Partners, LLC, Funding Will Drive New Product Innovation From the Core SocialSense Platform and Accelerate Growth of Sales and Marketing Functions

MADISON, WI--(Marketwire - April 20, 2010) - Networked Insights (www.networkedinsights.com), the leading social media analytics company, has closed $5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Kegonsa Capital Partners. The company will use the funds to continue to expand the powerful capabilities of its SocialSense social media listening platform, launch new product offerings based on the SocialSense architecture and accelerate the growth of its sales and marketing programs.

"The growing popularity and influence of social media makes listening a critical research and insight generation activity," said Forrester Principal Analyst Suresh Vittal in a recent report entitled "Listening Metrics that Matter" (www.forrester.com/rb/Research/listening_metrics_that_matter/q/id/54700/t/2). "Marketers are turning to listening platforms to harvest the rich trove of consumer conversations generated across all social media including blogs, message boards and social networks."

Fueling actionable insights for agencies and brands worldwide, SocialSense provides a segmented and focused look at the conversations and interactions happening online. Mining data from 300 million people, and 1.5 billion conversations monthly, it pinpoints important conversations while discovering emerging trends and insights about a given brand or campaign. Marketers then harness these insights to streamline research and better deliver on campaigns, armed with newly discovered consumer insights.

"SocialSense is built to aid marketers and advertisers in their daily jobs by providing them with brand or campaign insights to help shape media buys, messaging, innovation and evaluation," said Dan Neely, founder and CEO of Networked Insights. "What brands and agencies can learn from social media has applications far beyond social media. This infusion of capital will propel us even further in that direction, tapping the power of the largest focus group in the world to improve any and all marketing activities that rely on understanding the customer."

Networked Insights had previously raised $4 million from Kegonsa Capital and other investors. This round brings the total capital raised to $9 million.
