Neustar and Infoblox Announce Strategic Relationship for IP Networking Solutions

Industry Leaders Team to Deliver Best-of-Breed DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (IPAM) Solutions to Enterprise, Government and Service Provider Markets

STERLING, VA and SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - December 8, 2009) - Neustar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR) and Infoblox, Inc., two industry leaders in IP (Internet Protocol) networking solutions, announced today the formation of a strategic relationship designed to help business, government, and service provider organizations address the challenge of delivering and managing the core services underlying IP network infrastructures. Under the terms of the agreement, Neustar and Infoblox will immediately begin resale of each other's services and products. The companies will also plan additional value-added offerings made possible via the unique relationship.

Infoblox will now offer Neustar's UltraDNS® family of services, including managed DNS and traffic management; in turn, Neustar will offer Infoblox's core network services appliances. Each company will sell to their respective customer and prospect bases worldwide via extensive direct sales forces and reseller networks. As a result, customers will now be able to deploy Neustar's managed DNS services in combination with Infoblox's appliance-based DNS, DHCP and IPAM systems in order to achieve optimal performance, reliability, security and operating costs. Neustar and Infoblox will support each other through customer service, solutions engineering, sales and marketing, and contract administration.

"Neustar is the industry leader in managed DNS services, and we are thrilled to work with them to complement our appliance-based solutions with their cloud-based DNS service offerings," said Richard Kagan, vice president of marketing at Infoblox. "IP networking has become mission-critical for businesses, while the proliferation of IP devices and the emergence of cloud computing are making these network environments increasingly difficult to operate and manage. Combining Infoblox's internal DNS, DHCP and IPAM appliances with Neustar's managed DNS and traffic management offerings positions both companies to expand their leadership positions in this substantial and growing market."

Over 3,000 global businesses and government organizations trust Neustar to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective DNS solutions. Neustar's global UltraDNS directory platform has been built out over 10 years, and currently spans five continents with nodes at private points of presence (PoPs) and leading Internet Service Providers (ISPs), making the UltraDNS infrastructure one of the largest and most widely distributed DNS of its kind in the world.

"Our partnership with Infoblox is strategic, and will bring both immediate and long-term benefits to the marketplace," said Scott A. Walker, vice president, Global Partner Programs at Neustar. "Our combined customer base numbers over 6,000 enterprises, including over half of the Fortune 500, and our market opportunity is global. With this agreement, customers have immediate access to an expanded hardware and services solution set for core IP network services."

The market for robust, reliable and manageable core IP network and DNS services is growing due to a number of factors:

-- The rise of Internet commerce and collaboration demands nonstop
availability of an organization's web sites and application services.
-- As more and more devices -- from laptops, phones and cameras to door
locks and factory control systems -- become connected to networks, IT
organizations are finding it necessary to invest in automation to maintain
network uptime and security in the face of limited personnel budgets.
-- The broad adoption of virtualization and the promise of cloud
computing are increasing the velocity of change and placing increasing
stress on the outdated manual processes and tools used by most enterprises
    to manage their networks.

"The explosive growth of applications, virtual machines, mobile devices and network endpoints in general has made robust DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (DDI) both a major challenge and a critical requirement for most companies," commented Andreas Antonopoulos, senior vice president and founding partner with Nemertes Research. "Spreadsheets, static tables, custom scripts and non-specialist service providers are not suitable for core network infrastructure services, degrading the delivery of applications. Companies should carefully examine the platforms, providers and services they use to build global DDI infrastructures and elevate the importance of those services in their IT planning and operations."
