Nevada Star Resource Corp. Appoints Vice-President of
Exploration

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 4, 2005) - Nevada Star Resource
Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NEV) (OTCBB:NVSRF) ("Nevada Star") is pleased to
announce that William (Bill) Edward Stone, Ph.D., has joined Nevada Star
as Vice President of Exploration.

Mr. Stone has more than 20 years of professional experience in mineral
exploration, consulting, prospecting and research within industry and
university agencies in North America and Australia. Prior to joining
Nevada Star, he served as Principal Geologist - Vancouver for
Geoinformatics Exploration Limited (Perth), where he worked in a major
collaborative exploration project with Anglo American Exploration of
Canada Limited. Mr. Stone has published over 50 papers and 100 abstracts
in leading journals and is known as an expert in disseminated nickel
sulphide deposits such as the ones found in the Norseman-Wiluna Belt of
Western Australia, and in the Pechenga-Varzuga Belt of the Kola
Peninsula, Russia.

Mr. Stone's educational background includes a B.Sc. Geology (Honours)
from Dalhousie University (Halifax), an M.Sc. Geology from the
University of Western Ontario (London), and a Ph.D. from the University
of Western Ontario (London).

"We are very excited to have Bill Stone join us and lead our exploration
programs," stated Robert Angrisano, President of Nevada Star. "Bill
brings world-class expertise on magmatic mineral deposits and is well
published on geological and exploration models for major
nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum mining projects in Western Australia,
Ontario and Russia, all of which are very similar in geology to the
world-class MAN Alaska Project. In addition, he has explored and
prospected for gold in pertinent areas, including the challenging
mountainous and glaciated terrains of the High Canadian Arctic. This
combination of expertise and experience uniquely qualifies Bill to focus
and advance the MAN Alaska Project".

Mr. Stone will also be a great asset to the Anglo-Nevada Star team. Both
companies will benefit from his knowledge and guidance on an upcoming
exploration program on Area 1 of Nevada Star's MAN Alaska Project.

Nevada Star also announces the granting of 300,000 stock options
exercisable at a price of CDN $0.37 per share for a three-year period to
an officer of the Company. The stock options are subject to vesting over
a three-year period with 1/3 vesting at 12 months, 1/3 vesting at 24
months and 1/3 vesting at 36 months.

About the MAN Alaska Project

Nevada Star Resource Corp.'s (TSX VENTURE:NEV) (OTCBB:NVSRF) 271 square
mile Alaskan property, officially called the MAN Alaska Project, began
in 1995 and is located 164 miles southeast of Fairbanks and 248 miles
northeast of Anchorage -- an area characterized by its anomalously high
nickel and PGE concentrations.

Exploration results to-date on the MAN Alaska property indicate that it
has the potential for a significant nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum group
elements discovery, as well as gold.

The MAN Alaska Project, which consists of five distinct project areas:
Canwell, Rainy/Eureka, Summit Hill, Dunite Hill/Fish Lake, and Broxson,
is supported by a solid infrastructure: it is accessible from two paved
highways and bordering the Alaska Pipeline. View the project maps at
http://www.nevadastar.com/s/MANProject.asp for a breakdown of the
project areas.

The southern section (area 1) of the MAN property is now under joint
venture with Anglo American Exploration (USA), Inc. (Anglo USA), who
will perform its own exploration program pursuant to its agreement with
NEV. Anglo USA is a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Anglo American
plc, a global leader in the mining and natural resource sector. Under
the terms of the joint venture agreement, Anglo USA can earn a 51
percent interest in the southern portion of the MAN property by spending
a total of US $12 million over a five-year earn in period. Anglo USA has
the right to increase their interest by an additional 19 percent by
completing a feasibility study and an additional five percent by
arranging production financing for both Anglo USA and NEV. Anglo
completed its first year $600,000 (USD) field exploration program in
October 2004 and is currently planning a $1.2 million (USD) exploration
program for 2005.

Nevada Star Resource Corp. is a mineral exploration company that uses
the most advanced technology to search for metals that are in high
demand world-wide. Nevada Star Resource Corp. currently has projects in
Alaska, Nevada and Utah. The Nevada and Utah properties are in joint
partnership with Round Mountain Gold, and Western Utah Copper Company,
respectively. Both properties are scheduled to go into production in
2005. For more information, including maps, photos and project
