New Book Offers Green Innovation Insight from Cutting-Edge Companies

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2010) -  Imaginatik plc (AIM: IMTK), a provider of Collective Intelligence software and services aimed at streamlining the idea management process, Hult International Business School and the Center for Innovation, Excellence and Leadership (IXL Center) announce the launch of "Greenovate!," a book that describes the new ways in which businesses are merging sustainability with their innovation efforts.

"Greenovate!" highlights more than 50 success stories from businesses such as Cisco, Patagonia and Toyota that encourage the practice of sustainability and the use of green technology to promote growth and a thriving bottom line. These companies have used these "Greenovations" to ensure products and services are green and profitable.

"The 40th anniversary of Earth Day just passed and we're excited that the launch of our book, 'Greenovate!,' follows that celebration," said Dr. Hitendra Patel, founder and managing director of the IXL Center and Chair of the Innovation and Growth Program at the Hult International Business School. "This collection of extensive research aims to help businesses pursue sustainable, green innovations that make money while improving the environmental equation. Businesses are more apt to embrace sustainable practices if they understand that these efforts can be profitable and help them remain competitive. We hope the stories we share in this book offer insight and best practices that others can and will decide to follow in an effort to spur green innovation."

On Wednesday, April 28, Imaginatik, Hult International Business School and the IXL Center will host a formal book launch event in Cambridge, MA. The authors of the book, Hitendra Patel, Ph.D, Ronald S. Jonash, senior partner at IXL Center and at Spinnaker Group and Tyler McNally, an associate director and partner at IXL Center, will kick off the event with Charles Kane, president and COO of One Laptop Per Child. Additionally, Mark Turrell, Imaginatik CEO and an adjunct professor of the IXL Center, will be on hand to speak about technology's role in efforts to support green, profitable innovation.

"As research partners in the Greenovate! project, we're excited to share this insight with businesses looking to combine innovation efforts with sustainability goals," said Mark Turrell, CEO of Imaginatik. "Now more than ever, businesses are leading overall environmental innovation. This book serves as a guide for the next generation of businesses looking to create a more sustainable global economy."
