New Case Study From Semaphore Describes How Railways Can Reduce Line Heating Energy Costs by as Much as 71%

LAKE MARY, FL--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) -  Semaphore, a CSE Global company, has released a case study on an application of its T-BOX RTU product line for energy management. Combining programmable automation with an IP/web telemetry technology platform, the T-BOX SCADA system has been used to save between 25% and 71% on energy costs at remote line heaters along railway systems.

The "Railway Heating Systems" case study relates emerging requirements in light of recent economic conditions increasing the priorities on minimizing energy expenditures and increasing operations efficiency. T-BOX systems have been used to provide timely monitoring, improve maintenance, and optimize line heater automation.

An integrated RTU solution manages input measurements and a broad range of communications devices to efficiently allow access to all, remote locations. T-BOX further extends advanced IP communications, an integral web server, and push technology to comprise a very informative monitoring system.

T-BOX is the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the complete integration of SCADA system, control, and communications functionality in one rugged package. It leverages easy-to-use Web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralized, monitoring and control systems. T-BOX products offer up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/ PLC systems and permit greater organizational access to data through automated reporting and browser software.

Semaphore's T-BOX and Kingfisher RTU products are ideal for a broad range of monitoring and control applications in the broadcast / telecom, infrastructure management, oil & gas, power, transportation and water / wastewater industries. For more information about Semaphore solutions, visit, or contact Semaphore at 1200 Chantry Place, Lake Mary, FL 32746, 407-333-3235.
