New "Cru Vin Dogs" Wine Brand Announces Inaugural Releases

Proceeds Will Benefit Charities Devoted to Man's Best Friend

ENGLEWOOD, CO--(Marketwire - November 27, 2007) - A team of Colorado, California and Ohio wine industry veterans passionate about great wine, fine art, worthy causes and man's best friend has announced the formation of Cru Vin Dogs -- a new wine brand that features portraits of dogs and raises funds for canine-related charities.

Cru Vin Dogs Wine Group tracks down small lots of specials wines and grapes from vineyards throughout the world to create masterful blends of exceptional quality and value. This effort is led by Mary Snellgrove and Bill Foss -- seasoned wine professionals with decades of experience in wine distribution and sales -- company co-founder and artist Jay P. Snellgrove, California winemaker and viticulturist Tony Wasowicz, and Ohio director and Certified Wine Educator, Cameron Close.


Wines released under the Cru Vin Dogs label will feature original graphite and pastel pencil drawings of dogs by Jay P. Snellgrove, whose portfolio includes all "Ring of Fame" portraits commissioned by the Denver Broncos -- including, most recently, Terrell Davis -- and his fourth Bloodhound National Specialty Poster. Each new wine release will feature a different illustration with a wide variety of breeds showcased. The label art is also available in larger format, limited-edition illustrations available on the Cru Vin Dogs website.


Cru Vin Dogs will donate 10 percent of its sales to three dog-related charitable partners: the Alie Foundation, which provides Bloodhounds to law enforcement groups throughout the United States and educates children and parents about the dangers of child abduction; Canine Companions for Independence, which enhances the lives of children and adults with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs, and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships; and the Morris Animal Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the well-being of companion animals and wildlife by funding humane health studies and advancing veterinary medicine.


Wines will be released in three categories -- Puppy Series, Portrait Series and Best in Show.

The Puppy Series features small lots of exceptional quality wine for less than $20 a bottle, with an original drawing of a different breed for each release. The first wines to be offered are the 2005 Cru Vin Dogs Bloodhound Chardonnay, a blend of small lots of wine from two award-winning wineries in Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley, and the 2006 Cru Vin Dogs Labrador Retriever Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand's Marlborough region, made by one of the top winemakers from "Down Under."

The Portrait Series is comprised of outstanding red varietal blends capable of extended cellaring, but very drinkable early in the aging process. Each release will honor a real dog with a special story. The first offering is the 2005 Cru Vin Dogs "Yogi" Cabernet-Syrah blend from California's Napa Valley and Dry Creek appellations. The label features a drawing of a Bloodhound named Yogi, who served in a K-9 unit in Colorado for seven years. In 2008, Cru Vin Dogs will release a Merlot-Cabernet blend from the 2006 vintage honoring "Lucky," a Yellow Labrador Retriever assistance dog from Canine Companions that is assigned to a registered nurse at Denver's Children's Hospital.

The Best in Show series will include very limited quantities of remarkable wines hidden away in cellars and discovered by the Cru Vin Dogs team. The first release will be an exceptional 2005 Cabernet offered in the fall of 2008 and limited to fewer than 100 cases. The label will feature a Best in Show Champion.
